Aldeburgh
Aldeburgh is a charming, traditional seaside town lying within the Suffolk Coast & Heaths AONB. The fishermen still draw their boats up onto the shore and sell the fish from the beach which was awarded the Blue Flag rural beach award in 2005. It has many independent shops and galleries and was once one of the leading ports on the East Coast, renowned for its shipbuilding.
Aldeburgh is internationally known for the Aldeburgh Festival begun by Benjamin Britten together with the Snape Proms and many other concerts and festivals such as the Aldeburgh Food and Drink Festival which showcases the variety and quality of locally produced food and beverages, and the Literary Festivals.
