Small and medium-sized businesses throughout the UK are invited to apply for the Nectar Business Small Business Awards 2016.
The awards recognise and celebrate success, best practice, innovative ideas and outstanding achievements, including a cash prize for eight category winners.
The 2016 award categories are as follows:
Best Use of New Technology (new for 2016): A small business or individual that has successfully used or developed technology for the commercial advantage of their business
Apprentice of the Year (new for 2016): An individual who is either currently undertaking, or has completed an apprenticeship within a small business since 1 November 2015 and excels in their discipline
Innovation of the Year: A small business or individual that has created and successfully brought to market a product or service exploiting a gap in the market.
Home Grown Business of the Year: A small, sales-based business that has grown from ‘humble beginnings’.
Entrepreneur of the Year: An individual who successfully launched and continues to run their own business or businesses.
Tradesperson of the Year: A qualified tradesperson, defined as a skilled manual labourer, who owns or works in a small business.
Contribution to the Community: A small business, social enterprise or charity able to demonstrate a positive impact in the local community.
Small Business of the Year: A small business able to demonstrate overall excellence in its field.
The prize package includes: £2,000 cash, 50,000 Nectar points and national media publicity.
