The judges of the Suffolk Coastal Business and Community Awards have selected Framlingham Business Association as a finalist in the Encouraging Tourism category.
FBA organises and financially supports events such as SausageFest, the Heritage Open Day and the Fabulous Framlingham Christmas Festival and these all attract media attention and encourage thousands of visitors to the town.
Over the past few years, big crowds have also gathered in Framlingham to witness other FBA events such as the Olympic Flag Parade and celebrations for the Royal wedding and Queen’s Jubilee.
When notifying Richard Harrison, FBA Chair, the organisers said: “[Your selection] is a tremendous achievement against some incredibly tough competition this year. Congratulations.”
In response, Richard said: “FBA is delighted to be short-listed in this category. It’s testament to the hard work and dedication of the many volunteers who help us to organise and run our events and activities. These achieve local and national media coverage, attract visitors to Framlingham, and help sustain the economy of the town and region.”
The Awards will be presented on Tuesday 12th March at Kesgrave Hall, Milsoms, Kesgrave from 7pm.
